Culture Project’s Women Center Stage (WCS) is committed to supporting and vigorously promoting the work of women playwrights, directors, and performing artists, and celebrating the unique contribution of women to social justice and human rights. WCS 2011 features performances by two-time Tony nominee Daphne Rubin-Vega, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Angela McCluskey, new projects by playwrights and performers Leila Buck (Aftermath), Monica Hunken, Jane Bussmann, and Chelsea M. Gregory, as well as a tribute to anarchist theater legend Judith Malina, a weekend of director-driven short pieces attempting to answer the question, “What is political theater?”, a new piece by viBe Theater Experience, and more!
