Based around field recordings made in Antarctica by DJ Spooky (aka Paul D. Miller) exploring the
acoustic qualities of ice, Terra Nova
transforms the artist's first person encounter with the continent's
harsh, dynamic landscape into a large scale multimedia performance work
that employs video projections, sampling, and a scored symphony
performed live by members of the New York and Chicago-based
International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).
