Looking through the eyes of a veteran on the verge of suicide and a socialite whose past comes back to haunt her, Septimus & Clarissa tells a shocking and relevant story of war and its aftermath through a feast of words, images, movement and sound.
Adapted by Ellen McLaughlin from Virginia Woolf’s novel Mrs. Dalloway and directed by Rachel Dickstein with an original score by Gina Leishman, this visceral exploration of Woolf’s groundbreaking novel dives deep into the tensions of post-WWI London to expose the darkness that lurks beneath the fragile surface of peace.
