Jules Romains' 1923 satire Dr. Knock, Or The Triumph Of Medicine
focuses on what happens when Dr. Knock buys a small medical practice in
the French countryside and then, attempts to run it, using modern
business practices. The play debuted in Paris in 1923 and was produced
in New York in 1928.
