WOMEN'S PROJECT PLAYWRIGHTS LAB'S "PLAYING IN TRAFFIC" PLAYS ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE
Published 2010-07-30
Playing in Traffic, a collaboration from the Women's Project Playwrights Lab, will play at the Ensemble Studio Theatre. Directed by Alice Reagan, Playing in Traffic will have two performances (Thursday, August 12 at 7pm and 9:30pm).
The eight collaborative playwrights, Bekah Brunstetter, Carla Ching, Laura Eason, Charity Henson-Ballard, Kara Manning, Lynn Rosen, Crystal Skillman, & Andrea Thome, take on the city - block to block - in search of how the value of the dollar changes the landscape of a neighborhood. What they find is a city of song, brawls, magic, science, allergies, busted locks, hope, ghosts and family - all right across the street.
"These women are cool, not cool enough to have their play presented in Women's Project's own theatre with an air conditioning system that has given up the ghost, but cool just the same," said Julie Crosby, Producing Artistic Director of Women's Project. "Ensemble Studio Theatre is cool enough to let us use its space."
Tickets are free, but must be reserved by Monday, August 9. To order, email tickets@womensproject.org or call 212.765.2105
