"VERITAS" SPECIAL BENEFIT CELEBRATION 8/6

In honor of Stan Richardson's "Veritas", being presented at this year's FringeNYC, a special Benefit Celebration will take place on Friday, August 6th at 9pm in a West Village apartment. The evening will be co-hosted by Alan Cumming, Billy Porter, Brian Ellner, David Raleigh & Rick Bahl. "Veritas" is direced by Ryan J. Davis.

Tickets are: $100 - which includes 2 VIP Seats to "Veritas" and an Open Bar at the party; and $30 tickets which includes the party & Open Bar and only $20 for Young Professionals. More surprises to be announced. There will also be an auction for tickets to shows and other items. All proceeds from the party will benefit the 2010 FringeNYC production. Alan Cumming is the Tony Award Winner for CABARET, as well as the Broadway star of THE THREEPENNY OPERA, upcoming is the Julie Taymor's film version of "THE TEMPEST". He recently released his first solo album based around his one man show, I Bought a Blue Car Today. Billy Porter starred on Broadway in Grease, Miss Saigon, and is in the upcoming Signature Theatre's highly anticipated revival of ANGELS IN AMERICA. Brian Ellner is the Executive Director of the Campaign for New York Marriage and past candidate for Manhattan Borough President. David Raleigh is a Pop/R&B singer/songwriter, with a new CD: "Beginning Again."

Perkins 28 Productions is presenting "Veritas" at HERE Arts Center Mainstage Theater, 145 6th Avenue (enter on Dominick, 1 blk south of Spring) Inspired by true events, "Veritas" is the story of a group of young men at Harvard in 1920 whose promising futures fell prey to Harvard's "Secret Court": a gay witch-hunt conducted by school administration to purge Harvard of all homosexuality. The talented cast includes Justin Blanchard, Paul Downs Colaizzo, Mitch Dean, Morgan Karr, Doug Kreeger, Eric Nelsen, Matt Steiner, Jesse Swenson, Sam Underwood, and Joseph Yeargain. The costumes are by Matthew Pachtman, lighting by Brian Tovar. Nathan Vernon is the associate producer, with casting by Daryl Eisenberg; assistant director is Alex Jensen and Adam J. Thompson is the dramaturg. The stage manager is Corey Phillips and Maria de Cesare is the website designer. Performances will be Fri 8/20 @ 7pm; Sun 8/22 @ 8pm; Tue 8/24 @ 4:15pm; Fri 8/27 @ 5:15pm; and Sat 8/28 @ 8pm during the 14th New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC.

Stan Richardson is a playwright and director. His plays are "The Tale of the Good Whistleblower of Chaillot's Caucasian Mother and Her Other Children of a Lesser Marriage Chalk Circle", "The Children", "wHormone" and "All the World's Problems", have received workshops and readings at such venues as Second Stage, Ars Nova, Classic Stage Company, Dixon Place, PS122, The Brick Theatre. Stan is a contributor to nytheatre.com and a member of The Dramatists Guild of America. Ryan J. Davis is the creator & associate producer of the Broadway-bound musical "White Noise". For the last four years, he has directed & co-produced "The Broadway Beauty Pageant," a benefit for The Ali Forney Center. He has directed at The New York Musical Theatre Festival and The New York International Fringe Festival. He is a member of the executive board of Brooklyn's Lambda Independent Democrats and the board of The Deconstructive Theatre Project and has consulted on the campaigns of Howard Dean, Mark Green, Norman Siegel, and others. He blogs for The Huffington Post & host a new podcast titled "Gay History: Uncut."
