THE TEMPERAMENTALS TO END OFF-BROADWAY RUN MAY 30

Jon Marans' The Temperamentals will end its Off-Broadway run at New World Stages on May 30.
 
The play takes its title from the 1950s code word for homosexual, and tells the story of communist Harry Hay and young Viennese refugee and designer Rudi Gernreich, founders of the pre-Stonewall gay rights organization, The Mattachine Society.
 
Thomas Jay Ryan and Ugly Betty's Michael Urie star. Cast also features Arnie Burton, Matthew Schneck, and Sam Bresling Wright.
 
Jonathan Silverstein directs.
 
The creative team includes Clint Ramos (scenic and costume design), Josh Bradford (lighting design) and Daniel Kluger (sound design).
 
 The Temperamentals received a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble and Michael Urie won the Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. The play has received nominations for a Drama League Award for Michael Urie; Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play and Jon Marans for the John Gassner Award; as well as Lortel Award Nominations for Outstanding Play and a GLAAD Award Nomination for Outstanding New York Theater: Broadway & Off-Broadway.
