THE IRISH CURSE, Martin Casella’s acclaimed comedy, will end its Off-Broadway limited run on Sunday, May 30th at the Soho Playhouse, 15 Vandam Street (between Avenue of the Americas & Varick Street), where it opened on March 28th to rave reviews: “A funny and charming play. The Vagina Monologues for guys." – Elisabeth Vincentelli, The New York Post. "Perfect popular entertainment! An appealing cast! A savvy mixture of laughs and seriousness. A very human and even humane play." – Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press. 

Under the direction of Matt Lenz, the cast of THE IRISH CURSE includes Dan Butler, Roderick Hill, Scott Jaeck, Brian Leahy, and Austin Peck.

THE IRISH CURSE is set to have its London premiere this September at Above The Stag Theatre.  Cast, creative team and specific performance dates will be announced shortly. Located directly behind London’s Victoria Station, Above The Stag Theatre opened in November 2008 and is headed by Artistic Director Peter Bull.  Recent productions at Above The Stag include Christopher Gattelli’s award-winning production of SILENCE! the musical and the controversial Australian drama, The Choir.    

Monologues from THE IRISH CURSE will also be included in a new volume of The Best Men's Stage Monologues and Scenes (from Smith & Kraus).

THE IRISH CURSE had its world premiere at the New York International Fringe Festival with a sold-out run in 2005, garnering ecstatic notices and winning the Overall Excellence Award for Playwrighting. 

In THE IRISH CURSE, size matters to the Irish-American guys who meet every Wednesday night in a support group...for men with very small penises.  This raucously new comedy tackles the male obsession with body image, masculinity, and sex as it examines the fundamental question on the minds of men since the beginning of time..."How do I measure up to the next guy?"
