ONE NIGHT ONLY OFF BROADWAY PERFORMANCE OF BERLIN'S "MR. PRESIDENT"

Larry Daggett  (Ragtime, Candide), Kimberly Faye Greenberg (Danny and Sylvia, One Night with Fanny Brice), and Erin Mackey (Wicked, Sondheim on Sondheim) are set to star in a one-night-only Off Broadway performance of Irving Berlin's last Broadway musical Mr. President, presented July 18 in Manhattan to benefit the Actors Fund.

Mr. President, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, tells the story of the President of the United States and his family during his last few months in office and later, trying to adjust back to normal life in central Pennsylvania.

Not-for-profit Theatrical Gems produces the first New York revival of the show in its original context since 1963.The Off Broadway event will be held at The Mainstage Theatre, 416 West 42nd Street on Sunday, July18 at 8:00 PM. In addition to the performance, tickets and memorabilia for various past and present Broadway and off-Broadway shows will be sold in an auction that will begin online and will finish during intermission.

The 25-person Mr. President cast stars Mackey, Greenberg, and Daggett, with Chuck Karel (Hello Dolly, Dear World) and Joy Hermalyn (Fiddler on the Roof, La Boheme), and introducing Kenneth Kasch, Eric Noone, Tara Novie, and Spencer Andrew Taylor.

Joining them in the cast are DeeGee Brandemour, Scott Breitbart, Tricia Burns, Brianne Cobuzzi, Jody Cook, Gregory Couba, Benjamin Farha, Jonathan G Galvez, Maggie Graham, Christina Noone, Roger Rifkin, Michal Salonia, Stacey Scotte, Lawrence E. Street, Jennifer Teska, and Melodie Wolford.Theatrical Gems Artistic Director Jacob Shoesmith-Fox directs, with musical direction bySteven H. Taylor.

Mr. President won the 1963 Tony Award for Best Stage Technician (Solly Pernick) and received nominations for Best Actress in a Musical (Nanette Fabray) and Best Conductor and Musical Director (Jay Blackton).
