The original cast recording of Sherie Rene Scott's original Off-Broadway and now Broadway-bound Everyday Rapture is being rushed to production and currently available for pre-sale on Sh-K-Boom Records' Ghostlight label.
The Off-Broadway show was recently announced to fill the spot left vacant by the postponed Broadway production of Lips Together, Teeth Apart. Everyday Rapture will begin performances on Broadway at the American Airlines Theatre April 19, 2010 with the original Off-Broadway cast.
Second Stage Theatre presented the extended Off-Broadway run of Everyday Rapture, which ended June 14, 2009. Everyday Rapture now get a reprise on Broadway and is billed as "the story of a young woman's psycho-sexual-spiritual journey on the rocky path that separates her mostly Mennonite past from her mostly Manhattan future," according to show notes. "Her life takes her from the cornfields of Kansas to the clover fields of New York (with a disturbing detour through YouTube)."
