After many months of planning and development (debut was first announced for Feb. 4, then bumped to Feb. 25, then to March 17 "to integrate new performance elements."), the Off-Broadway production of Banana Shpeel, the latest Cirque du Soleil production, will finally begin preview performances tonight in New York City. The vaudeville-style theatrical production with circus acts plays at the Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Opening night for the Off-Broadway production of Banana Shpeel is May 19, 2010.
