59E59 THEATERS ANNOUNCES 1ST IRISH FESTIVAL LINEUP OFF BROADWAY

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) is proud to announce the roster of shows for the Fall 2010 Season. All performances take place at Off Broadway's 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues).
Once again, the 1st IRISH FESTIVAL kicks off the Fall 2010 Off Broadway season at 59E59 Theaters, with the US premiere of Guna Nua's critically acclaimed Off Broadway production of ABSOLUTION and Origin Theatre Company's premiere of EXIT/ENTRANCE.
American poet and novelist Sylvia Plath would have turned 78 on October 27, so it is a fitting month to honor Plath at 59E59 Theaters. The New York premiere of her only play, THREE WOMEN, arrives Stateside after a 2008 sold-out run at the Jermyn Street Theatre in London. WISH I HAD A SYLVIA PLATH is a strikingly original look inside the mind of Esther Greenwood, heroine of Plath's most famous novel 'The Bell Jar', while her head is in the oven.
Finally, Brits Off Broadway returns for a seventh spectacular season in November and December. Details will be announced soon.

Timely and topical, O'Neill weaves a grim and riveting tale of a man who has taken upon himself the sins of so many and unleashed on them a terrible vengeance. Acclaimed Dublin company Guna Nua returns to New York after their critically acclaimed premiere last January with Best of Edinburgh Award-winner Little Gem at The Flea. And 59E59 welcomes Belfast director Rachel O'Riordan (Hurricane, Brits Off Broadway 2004) back to 59E59!

Charles, a retired classics professor and his wife, Helen, quietly re-affirm their deep affection for each other and the life they've shared - its delights and disappointments - as they toast their commitment. Meanwhile, in a similar apartment, a much younger couple, also called Charles and Helen, are eagerly beginning their life together. Are these the same people 40 years ago? If not, who are they?
