I am coming to New York in several months. How often do shows open and close?
Many shows, such as Altar Boyz and Stomp, have been running for several years. You can expect that these long-running Off-Broadway shows will stick around for some time. However, there can be many changes to the Off-Broadway schedule over a period of several months. Many commercial Off-Broadway shows only run for a short period of time, and many non-profit companies have seasons of several shows that are only scheduled to run for a few weeks.
If a show has tickets on sale, it is likely that it will still be running when you arrive. If, for some reason, the show closes after you have purchased your tickets, you will be refunded as long as you purchased your tickets from a reliable ticket vendor.
We suggest you purchase your tickets as far in advance as you can, especially if there are shows you really want to see. If a show you purchased tickets for closes, just know that there will be several new Off-Broadway shows to choose from in its place!
